A reflective woman in conversation with an abstract field of luminous ideas

A forthcoming book by Olena Clayton

Coach Yourself with AI

Use AI as a personal coaching partner—for deeper self-knowledge, clearer decisions and meaningful change.

This is not a book of clever prompts. It is a practical way to have better conversations with yourself, using AI to explore what matters without giving away your judgment or agency.

Self-knowledge Better decisions Meaningful action

AI can give you answers. This book helps you have better conversations with yourself.

You already carry more wisdom than you can always access in the moment.

When a decision is difficult, a relationship is complicated or life feels noisy, the problem is rarely a complete lack of information. Often, you need space to slow down, notice what is happening and hear your own thinking more clearly.

Used thoughtfully, AI can help create that space. It can ask the next question, surface an assumption, offer another perspective and help turn reflection into a meaningful next step.

The principle: AI supports the thinking. You remain the author of your life.

A repeatable coaching loop

From a tangled problem to a clear next step.

The book teaches a six-part process you can return to whenever you need to understand, decide, change or move forward.

01

Clarify

Name what is really happening—not only the first version of the problem.

02

Explore

Notice the thoughts, emotions, needs and assumptions shaping your experience.

03

Reframe

Question the story, widen the frame and discover what else may be true.

04

Choose

Reconnect with your values and decide what you genuinely want.

05

Act

Turn insight into one grounded, meaningful and achievable next step.

06

Reflect

Learn from what happened and carry the insight into your next conversation.

Bring your real life

Not hypothetical problems. Your problems.

Use the method across the questions that shape how you work, relate and live.

WORK & LEADERSHIP

Lead with greater clarity

Prepare for difficult conversations, navigate competing priorities and step into greater responsibility in your own way.

DECISIONS

Hear what you really think

Separate fear, expectation and noise from the choice that feels honest and aligned.

PATTERNS & CONFIDENCE

See what keeps repeating

Recognise familiar assumptions, test them gently and experiment with a different response.

RELATIONSHIPS & LIFE

Make room for the whole picture

Explore communication, boundaries, wellbeing, purpose and the life you want alongside your ambitions.

A different kind of prompt

Ask less for advice. Explore more deeply.

The quality of the partnership changes when AI stops performing certainty and begins helping you think.

You

I keep postponing a decision I know I need to make.

AI coach

Before we solve it, what makes this decision difficult for you—not practically, but personally?

You

I’m afraid that choosing one future means losing another.

AI coach

What are you trying to preserve in each future? And which of those needs might be met in more than one way?

Illustrative conversation. The book will show you how to establish context, invite challenge and guide AI away from superficial reassurance.

Human first

Use AI without giving away your agency.

AI can be an extraordinary reflection partner. It is not an oracle, therapist or substitute for human care and professional judgment.

  • Know when AI coaching is useful—and when it is not.
  • Protect sensitive information and make intentional privacy choices.
  • Challenge confident answers, hidden assumptions and unhelpful agreement.
  • Keep your values, embodied experience and human relationships at the centre.
